Last weekend, I attended the veterans parade in Lewisburg. My father is a veteran and took part in the festivities, so naturally I wanted to be there to support him.
It was an amazing day! It began with war planes flying so low it felt like you could touch them. I stood in awe at the sight of them. The sound vibrated through my body and ended in goose bumps. Little boys were running out of their houses to see them with their dads. They were so excited! Everywhere you looked you saw an American flag. It was extraordinary! The streets were overflowing with patriotism. Every band was playing patriotic music. Every float displayed red, white and blue. There were clowns, gymnasts, Boy Scouts and horses. There were fire trucks and medic units.
